Ok so she's not actually that weird.....
I've known this girl for over 10 years now. Its unbelievable how time flies and how friendships like these never change. Over the past few years despite our busy lives we've always managed to meet up and do what we love best! EAT! Dessert, Pizza, Gnocci, Chocolate ... You name it we will indulged on anything scrumptious.
A few days ago she took me on a late night cruise to St. Louis in Chinatown. Ive heard the good and the bad of this place so my expectations weren't high.
First impressions of the place ....
Cosy dessert bar with the right balance of black and white, a nice selection of ice-cream and cakes/biscuits, and a menu to satisfy every craving from churros or waffles to breakfast croissants or toast and from cocktails to hot breverages.
Then comes our dessert!!
OK so if you have a sweet sweet tooth this place is for you. By the end of our meal we felt so sick (in a semi good way) and the sight of chocolate made us feel a little queazy. My opinion on St. Louis... Probably not my number 1 place to drop by for a dessert fix up. The platter selection of a cookie sandwich, ice-cream in a cone and chocolate tart was a disappointment. The affogato was delicious but extremely creamy. Likewise for the iced mocha it was very rich and when served the drink was still warm. For the price you pay, I would only order our peanut and chocolate waffles again. However, they do know how to make a grand presentation for every plate and drink!
Overall opinion of St. Louis .... it's a big hit or miss. If you manage to select the right desserts you'll enjoy your night.
Hope you all have had a great week so far!
X MM
